What you should know
What the labs said, from the labs — every item from a registered source, unfiltered. This lane does no selection at all; its entire editorial policy is the source registry at the bottom of the page.
How this list is made
18 first-party sources — newsroom feeds, sitemap diffs, model registries — are polled hourly, and every new item lands here with its source named. No ranking, no picking. The registry exists because half the labs have no working feed: Anthropic publishes through a sitemap, xAI only to a page a browser has to render. 4 collection mechanisms, one rule: first-party or nothing.

The sources, and when they last spoke
A quiet source is recorded, never hidden — and quiet has three readings. A dead feed on an active org is a broken source (it gets fixed or replaced). An abandoned newsroom on an active org means the channel died, not the company. And a genuinely quiet lab is the news. The chart below separates the readings by splitting what a lab said from what it shipped: every announcement channel here has spoken within the last 15 days, so the long silences all sit in the model registries, where they mean something.
Silence has three readings — a broken feed, a dead channel on a living org, and a lab that stopped publishing — and only the last is news. Splitting the chart is what makes them separable: a newsroom that goes quiet for a month is a collector problem to fix, while a registry that goes quiet for a year is Meta not having released public weights since April 2025. No source is auto-disabled for being quiet; a person decides which of the three it is, and two dead Qwen channels were retired that way on Aug 20, 2026.
