Terms
Terms pages are usually long because they’re protecting something complicated. This site sells nothing and holds no accounts, so there isn’t much to protect. Seven short rules. The second one is the one I actually care about.
What this is
The Lab is a personal research site. It publishes measurements, field reports, and running instruments, for reading. Using the site means accepting these terms; if they are not acceptable, the remedy is not to use it.
Independence
This site is the personal project of its author, created and published entirely on personal time, on personal equipment, at personal expense. Its material draws solely on public sources and on data its own instruments collected.
No employer of the author, past or present, contributed to this site in any form. No employer data, systems, tools, documents, funding, personnel, or other resources were used in creating, operating, or publishing any part of it. Nothing on this site describes, reflects, comments on, or draws upon any employer's work, plans, products, customers, strategy, decisions, or people, and nothing on it should be read as doing so.
All views expressed are the author's alone. No employer or other organization sponsors, endorses, reviews, approves, or is affiliated with this site, and nothing on it is written on behalf of, or addressed to, any organization.
Not advice
Everything published here is a measurement taken at a stated point in time. Models, prices, tools, and rankings change after the day they were measured, and the site does not update retroactively. Nothing here is professional, financial, legal, or investment advice, and no decision should rest on this site alone.
The assistant
Answers from the site's assistant are machine-generated and can be wrong. Where an answer cites a page, the page is the authority. Do not use the assistant or the contact form for automated flooding, attempts to extract their internals, or anything unlawful.
Content and links
The site's content is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Links to external sites are references, not endorsements, and cited external material belongs to its owners. Original content here may be quoted with attribution.
What you send
Sending something through the contact form does not make it part of the site. Nothing a reader sends is published unless the author chooses to publish it, and corrections that change an entry are credited with the sender's consent. How submitted data is handled is the privacy page's job.
Changes
These terms can change, and the date at the top of this page moves when they do. Continued use after a change means accepting the changed terms.
